Talbar – Why Drömlandet?

Why is the National Museum of Science and Technology launching the exhibition Drömlandet, about Sweden as a country of technology and innovation – and why now? An opening seminar of Talbar, the museum's talk forum, that places Swedish technological history at the heart of today's major social issues: responsibility, blind spots, and future choices.

Sweden's technological history is more than just inventions and factories; it is about how innovations shaped our democracy, our working lives, and our living conditions. In this talk, voices with insight into the background of the exhibition come together to discuss what history can actually teach us as we tackle the major choices of our time. What decisions made Sweden strong – and what blind spots do we need to see today? The talk frames the exhibition from a societal perspective: technology as a human project where ideas, values, and responsibility always play a leading role.
