Space Night: Sci-fi & Cryonics
What does it take for a human being to travel between the stars? Building a rocket is not enough. The body ages. Radiation breaks down tissue. Energy runs out. Time is the real enemy.
During the evening, Anders Sandberg will discuss current research on medically induced hibernation, cryonics, and biological life extension. Can we pause aging? Freeze the body for future reanimation? Or must we abandon the body entirely?
The conversation moves from biology and AI to more radical ideas: digitizing consciousness, scanning brains, and traveling as information—only to be recreated in new bodies upon arrival. Speculative, yes. But always rooted in ongoing research.
